Hi, I am Dana. I am a portrait photographer serving the Upper Valley and Keene, NH. My photography developed during my travels to 18 countries, but since 2010, I have been creating dreamy portraiture as firefly photography. 

I am deeply passionate about image-making & my style reflects soulful, whimsical sensibilities. I always believed that time is abstract and to be "in the moment". However, since losing my mother, Lucia, quickly to cancer in 2015, I am even more sensitive to those beautiful fleeting moments that create a life story.  

I've always been inspired by the dreamy and the ethereal and started a series of personal projects called "Do You Dream in Color?" Each image is inspired by a love of portraiture, a growing fascination with botany, reverence for the feminine, the cyclical rhythm of the seasons, surrealism, and my dreamy style. My portraiture is also influenced by the fantasy of early children's book illustrations and moody chiaroscuro light. Photoshop has been a powerful tool for deepening my creative approach to imagery.

When I am not behind a camera or deep in Photoshop, I teach online history classes, or I am spending time with my son, my partner (and his 3 kiddos), and our cat (Phoebe). I also love reading (especially a good gothic mystery), drawing & painting, humming & singing, gardening, running, and karate.
