This was a beautiful session in Hanover, NH. I absolutely adored this beautiful dog in the family (I always seems to gravitate toward the family pets) and I love them to be in the photos as much as possible. As an Upper Valley of NH and VT photographer, I am always looking for interesting places to do portrait photography. I love how the seasons change the landscapes so rapidly here in the Upper Valley and in New Hampshire. I noticed that there was a beautiful flowering tree in Hartland, VT that I absolutely needed to photograph with some portraits. I was feeling inspired, also, by some dresses that I had and got this “dollhouse” sensibility to my approach to this session. Enjoy these fine art portraits from that day.

As an Upper Valley family, baby, and child photographer, it was such a joy to do this in-home lifestyle newborn photo session, right here in Lebanon, NH. I loved how big sister really took to the baby and it all seemed so symbolic, with the daffodils emerging and spring beginning, bringing a sense of new life and birth. It really is my favorite time of year! And I really enjoyed this sweet outdoor family photo session with the new baby.
As a newborn baby and family photographer here in Lebanon, NH, I really love traveling to people’s homes to do lifestyle portraiture after they have had their baby. The super posed stuff is cool and all but I don’t think it will stand the test of time for most of my clients. I want to have images that will be relevant a generation later, or 2 or 3. And I also want to evoke all those memories that new parents have in the very beginning. I feel like the imagery is more beautiful and authentic, and evocative. As a NH fine art photographer, I created this deeply personal body of work called Terminal, I am reflecting on my mother’s death in 2015 at the age of 63, 30 days after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis. At times, I am still unexpectedly gripped by some of these emotions. These digital multimedia portrait pieces explore my own bereavement. The process is not linear, and the Kubler-Ross model of the Five Stages of Grief does not have a prescribed beginning and end, so the images follow no particular order.

Being a newborn and baby photographer here in the Upper Valley I was delighted to install these beauties at @gentlelandingmidwifery ! We’re so lucky to have a free standing birth center here in the Upper Valley lead by some amazing dedicated women.
As a Keene NH and Upper Valley photographer, I am super amped to have another Keene Art Walk under my belt. My first was in 2012.
Artist Statement: In these large portraits and digital photographic collages, I combine a love of portraiture, a growing fascination with botany, reverence for the feminine, the cyclical nature of the seasons, the concept of impermanence, surrealism, and dreaminess. Increasingly fascinated by the Wheel of the Year and annual natural rhythms, I incorporate elements from nature into my photographic works. The temporary (and ephemeral) nature of things resonates deeply with me. For example, my costumes are usually assembled the day-of the shoot and models need to be flexible around changing weather conditions and optimal locations in terms of blooms. I enjoy working with fleeting elements in my images. In my digital photo collages, I layer photographs I have taken in nature over my portraits and dive deep in Photoshop working with layers, colors, textures and to create a finished image.
