My four-year-old and I are re-reading The Tales of Beatrix Potter  right now.

I love the idea of the wild woods filled with fantastical stories and animal characters. There are obedient characters, there are daring characters and there are scary moments. I have been inspired by these stories to create a woodland fantasy of my own.  For this story, I wanted to feature two masked woodland animals in a black and white color palette.

 The winter woods are quiet, but there is also a lot happening. It’s an understated time of year. It can be perceived as a threatening place or a very serene place. I guess it depends on perception.

I was in Robin Hood Park in Keene, NH again this year, shooting Firefly Photography’s latest stylized concept, “Fox Hollow”. Fow Hollow has been accepted into the Art Walk this year, for more information on the exhibit in Hannah Grimes,  click here.

There is a hare in Fox Hollow, but first let’s get introduced to our Fox.

This concept shoot featured two children named Zain and Jolie.  I want to thank Kylah and Avril who lent me their kiddos. I am also grateful for the use of Keene’s city park, Robin Hood Park. New England Fabrics on Ralston Street provided the faux fur fabric, the laces, the bowtie fabric, the ribbons and the much of the other details of the costumes. The fonts I used were Jellyka’s font, “Western Princess” and redFONTS’ “Ab Nirvana”.
