This is one of my favorite families here in the upper valley of NH and VT. I felt so fortunate to shoot at sweet, beautiful Dewey’s Landing in Quechee, VT before the summer rain storms damaged it. It was such a perfect, dreamy summer evening to capture these moments.

As a portrait photographer here in the Upper Valley of VT and NH, I had an absolute ball photographing this young man’s senior portraits. We decided on an urban feel and hung out in downtown White River Junction, VT. An avid musician, we included his trombone in the photos. We were blessed with mild temperatures for the senior session. Here are the results!
As an Upper Valley and Keene NH, photographer, I always love getting requests for maternity portraits. It’s so cool to get these magical images of parents-to-be. I think maternity portraits are my absolute favorites, to be honest. And people don’t typically think “winter” for portraits, but I love the way the light gently reflects from the snow to create a soft light on my subjects. I am a big fan of family photos sessions in the winter – so long as it is not TOO cold! Sometimes it is hard to find a good location, because of the snow and ice making for inaccessible locales. For this session, we went to The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm. I am grateful to them for giving us permission to shoot at their beautiful snowy property in Quechee, VT. As a Keene and Upper Valley baby, child, and maternity photographer, I think these kinds of photo sessions are my favorite. We had the most dreamy light in Walpole, NH. And my clients were so sweet and affectionate, waiting for their new baby to arrive. All the conditions for beautiful dreamy portraits were ideal. As an Upper Valley photographer here in Lebanon, NH, it is always a treat for me to photograph high school seniors. For this one, we wanted to for an urban vibe, we we met up in downtown White River Junction over the river in Vermont. I absolutely love this downtown area – there are so many curiosities there. I hoped to capture this HS senior’s personality and wishes against the backdrop of the cool VT downtown area. I really love senior sessions here in the Upper Valley.
As an Upper Valley and Keene NH, photographer, I always love getting requests for newborn portraits. It’s so cool to get these images of new parents who are really on the brink of a whole new phase of their lives. I am so happy I switched over from newborn studio portrait sessions, to the in-home lifestyle sessions. I really loved the colorful style of this family photo session here in Lebanon NH in the Upper Valley. The twins were pretty relaxed and chill during our session and the weather was so nice, we decided to shoot outside in the natural light. As a family photographer here in the Upper Valley, I’ve not had the opportunity to photograph a lot of twins, but it’s such a joy to do so every now and again.
As a family portrait photographer here in the Upper Valley, I don’t even know where to begin with this session. I absolutely love this family. We trekked over to Alyson’s Orchard over in Walpole, NH (not far from Keene, NH) for our family photo session. These guys have their hands full with three energetic boys! It was great to get out to the orchard for our photo session so the kids could run amok a bit. I love watching this sweet family grow year after year. As an Upper Valley child, baby, family and newborn photographer here in New Hampshire, I am so delighted to offer in-home lifestyle newborn portrait sessions. This was a beautiful session in Hanover, NH. I absolutely adored this beautiful dog in the family (I always seems to gravitate toward the family pets) and I love them to be in the photos as much as possible. We had a wonderful sweet newborn and family photo session this summer right here in NH.
As an Upper Valley of NH and VT photographer, I am always looking for interesting places to do portrait photography. I love how the seasons change the landscapes so rapidly here in the Upper Valley and in New Hampshire. I noticed that there was a beautiful flowering tree in Hartland, VT that I absolutely needed to photograph with some portraits. I was feeling inspired, also, by some dresses that I had and got this “dollhouse” sensibility to my approach to this session. Enjoy these fine art portraits from that day.

As an Upper Valley family, baby, and child photographer, it was such a joy to do this in-home lifestyle newborn photo session, right here in Lebanon, NH. I loved how big sister really took to the baby and it all seemed so symbolic, with the daffodils emerging and spring beginning, bringing a sense of new life and birth. It really is my favorite time of year! And I really enjoyed this sweet outdoor family photo session with the new baby.
As a newborn baby and family photographer here in Lebanon, NH, I really love traveling to people’s homes to do lifestyle portraiture after they have had their baby. The super posed stuff is cool and all but I don’t think it will stand the test of time for most of my clients. I want to have images that will be relevant a generation later, or 2 or 3. And I also want to evoke all those memories that new parents have in the very beginning. I feel like the imagery is more beautiful and authentic, and evocative.
